The most difficult part about selling coaching services is the lack of perceived tangible results. This is especially true for life coaches, who frequently focus on things other than the bottom-line increase. And when people can’t see a tangible result at the end of the process, it’s a lot harder to convince them to buy.
Some coaches found a way to increase the level of tangibility by offering e-books, books, booklets, audios, manuals and other physical products. While these are all great items to use as bonuses, they may take a while to create.
If you would like to add a tangible value to your coaching program, but don’t want to spend weeks or months creating it, consider including a self-assessment to go with the coaching program. Assessments are fun and will provide invaluable insights for your clients.
While it’s certainly possible to license the use of existing assessments, you can custom develop your own to immediately increase the value of your services. Begin by listing all the skills and competencies your clients must possess by the end of the coaching process. Also, list all the activities and actions they must take to achieve maximum results with your program.
Then, create a detailed scoring key, explaining what their score means. The longer the assessment, the more detailed the scoring key should be.

I have personally received at least fifty e-mails from friends and colleagues last year, referring me to various self-assessment web sites! I could find out what my IQ was, what type of personality I have, if I’m a good candidate to be a franchisee or whether business ownership is for me, just to name a few.
Imagine hundreds or thousands of people sending their friends and relatives to your web site! Nothing else will make people spread the word about your web site faster than a free assessment!
While many coaches and consultants already have assessments on their web sites, most of them are offered in PDF or Microsoft Word format. So the only way to complete these assessments is to print them out and manually fill in the blanks.
Your existing clients won’t mind doing it, but your prospects may think it’s too much of a hassle. Keeping this in mind, I developed a tool that instantly solves this problem!

My 6 Figure Story

When I started my business from scratch 11 years ago, I learned ONE important thing:
“Limited resources require creative solutions.”
Some of the best marketing IDEAS come from lack of resources, such as money, time, or a prospect database.
That’s exactly how I got my first SIX figures!
Here’s what happened…
I had a very small list, no connections, no name, and very little experience in my niche. So I asked myself, how could I get everyone’s attention? How could I increase my credibility AND my income at the same time?
I needed an idea that would appeal to both, prospects and movers-n-shakers who would be excited to spread the word.
Then one day I FINALLY got it!
Within a few weeks I started an online association for my target clients, and began inviting top industry experts to be featured on my web site. All of a sudden, credibility was no longer an issue. Everyone wanted to be part of it! A year later I held a telesummit through the association, my list size doubled, and I hit 6 figures for the first time in my business!
All of this happened because I had no money and no list, and had to come up with something DIFFERENT!

“Unleashing the Ideavirus” by Seth Godin is one of the most important books on business and marketing. It is not about finding the right marketing strategies, or knowing the right places to advertise in.

The same is happening to many other products, and the Internet is making things happen so much faster and easier today. It “amplifies” the word-of-mouth by thousands!
